UCC Winners | UCC Submissions

About Unusual Creatures

The aim of these contests are to help members reach deep down to their creativity banks and come up with a totally strange, bizarre and very unusual creature and then find a way to place them in a strange or unusual scene or predicament. Entries will be judged on originality, detail to the set theme or task, and style of writing.

Maybe you'd even like to take a stab on drawing your unusual creature too! Though no extra points will be given, but it would certainly give us all something more to look at.

Unusual Creatures Contest Line-up

Stage 1: Creature Creation - Closed!
Creation of your unusual creature!
This part of the contest is closed, but remember if you want to take part in the later stages you still have to create an unusual creature!

Stage 2: Unusual Territory - Closed!
UCC Unusual Territory
You have your creature now place it in a proposed unusual scene; can you manage your creature in someone else’s territory?

Stage 3: A weird Predicament - OPEN!
UCC A weird Predicament
Phew! You managed to get through the unusual territory, but now something bizarre is about to happen, how will it affect your unusual creature?

Stage 4: The Showdown!
The showdown, you have got this far, but can you handle the final showdown of the UCC.

2006-03-05 [Font]: No No, you can switch and change between each for any stage. Just as long as you use the same creature you created in the first part.  Stage two info will be put up on tuesday,

2006-03-05 [RiddleRose]: coolio! my poetry muse seems to have gone on early vacation... >.<

2006-03-10 [Grey Wanderer]: So, since I have a creature I can participate in the next part?

2006-03-11 [Font]: Yes, as long as you have a submission for each previous part you can take part in the next.

2006-03-11 [Fuzzysabeast]: Does this mean that these are all different contests?

2006-03-11 [Font]: Practially yes, but more like rounds, at the end there will be one final winner for the whole contest. Prize for that I am still thinking about ;)

2006-03-11 [Font]: Actually I know what it is, but I won't tell you little minions until later :P

2006-03-11 [Grey Wanderer]: How cruel! We're dying of suspence.... XP

2006-03-12 [Fuzzysabeast]: oOo a surprise I like surprises

2006-03-12 [Font]: Me too, I shall pretend I don't know what it is, and then when we reach stage 4, I will be suprised too when i 'remember' :P

2006-03-12 [Fuzzysabeast]: *laughs and pokes*

2006-03-12 [Font]: :P It sounds like a great plan! Along with the 'prize' there will also be a special overall winners badge

2006-03-12 [Fuzzysabeast]: Nice, sounds like fun. I'll have to get to work eh?

2006-03-12 [Font]: Yes, yes. Same goes to everyone else :)

2006-03-18 [Grey Wanderer]: *long silence filled with keyboards tapping and pencils scratching*

2006-03-19 [RiddleRose]: *sneezes*

2006-03-19 [Font]: I could all give you a deadline if you want :P

2006-03-20 [RiddleRose]: NOOOOO!!!! no deadlines!!!

2006-03-20 [Font]: Well lets say a month from today! So get your skates on! 20th April!

2006-03-20 [Grey Wanderer]: Done! Still needs some fixing up, but that's doable...*goes off muttering, trailing paper*

2006-04-20 [RiddleRose]: almost done! phew!
